About us
MyTradeMarket: Company registered with CIPC (reg. no. K2026846630) · trading name pending. Director: Kayla Dhooge. Registration date: 22 October 2026. The approved company name is pending; full legal identity wording will be completed when approved. Contact details are on our contact page. By creating an account you agree to these draft terms, subject to applicable statutory rights.
What we do
MyTradeMarket is a listing and messaging platform. Contracts for sale or rental are made directly between buyer and seller. We are not a party to them and do not hold payments.
Accounts
You must be at least 18 and give accurate information. Business sellers must give their real company name and registration details. Before trading, buyers and sellers must add their first and last names and a profile photo. This is not proof of identity. Specialist private ID verification is planned; do not post ID numbers or documents.
Listings
Listings must be accurate, owned by you or listed with permission, and legal to sell in your country. Stolen, counterfeit, unsafe or recalled items are prohibited. We may hold, reject or remove listings, including those flagged by our automated scam check.
Fees
Listing is free and rental commission is zero. Sale commission is calculated marginally using the schedule below. Provider charges are separate and currently unconfirmed; the seller is the default fee payer. Existing agreed deal records retain their frozen estimates. No automatic commission collection is active.

Prices, VAT and agreeing a purchase
Listing prices are seller supplied asking prices, not checkout totals. Currency conversions are indicative. Before accepting, confirm the seller's legal identity, VAT registration where applicable, total price including applicable VAT, transport, insurance, customs and other charges, and the cancellation and return terms. We do not infer VAT registration from an empty VAT field or add invented tax amounts. No paid recurring subscriptions or live checkout are offered. Free search emails have no billing or automatic paid renewal and can be cancelled by deleting the alert.
Consumer rights and unlawful content
Mandatory rights under applicable consumer law are not waived by these terms, inspection statements or rental risk warnings. See our cancellation and refund policy. Report unlawful user content through our designated notice contact; staff review notices rather than automatically deciding legal rights.
Seller agreement and deal records
See the seller agreement for seller responsibilities, ownership declarations, inspection and transport arrangements. Private deal records freeze a proposed price and server calculated commission estimate with a history of participant actions. They are not paid orders, verified handover evidence or payout instructions. Recording a problem does not itself submit a staff dispute; use the dispute form in Messages.
Payment activation requirements
Website payments remain unavailable. Before activation, approved provider access and South African legal/accounting review must cover verified gateway notifications, payment initiation commission snapshots, gateway fee allocation, refunds, chargebacks and any lawful recovery of seller funds after payout. No current page confirmation, seller badge or handover statement is proof of payment.
Provider custody and release
The company must not hold seller funds in its own bank account. Only an approved licensed provider may hold and route them. Planned release is immediate after verified payment and checks below R100,000, and buyer confirmed receipt from R100,000; provider settlement timing is not guaranteed. This flow is not active and conditional custody must be confirmed before use.
Conduct
No fraud, harassment, spam or moving a deal off platform to avoid fees. Sale listings/conversations and general profiles, quote requests, quotes and reviews may not share personal contact details, social links, street addresses or bank details, or arrange private meetings or payments. Rental listings and rental conversations are exempt: contact sharing and outside rental arrangements are allowed with zero rental commission and no payment protection. Listing sale/rental type cannot be changed to bypass these rules. Contact marketplace support about inspections and completing a deal; online checkout is not available yet. Sale commission is owed on any completed sale that started from a MyTradeMarket listing or enquiry, even if you finalise it elsewhere. You can report incoming messages or block other participants. Blocks stop new messages in both directions but do not remove existing history or prevent outside contact. Reports share the reported message with staff; no automatic suspension is implied. Seller reported sales history is not proof of payment. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Liability
We don't inspect equipment and can't guarantee listings. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits your statutory consumer rights.
Ending your account
You can request account deletion at any time from the data request page. Our team processes the request; submitting it does not immediately delete your account.
Rental risk and equipment return
Rent out at your own risk. Equipment may not be returned, or may be stolen or damaged. MyTradeMarket does not guarantee return or recovery and does not provide rental insurance or compensation. Agree written hire terms, return dates and suitable insurance before handing equipment over. This warning does not remove statutory rights or legal responsibilities. If equipment is not returned or theft is suspected, report the concern and contact the appropriate authorities and your insurer.
